Clorox Finance Back to School

After the initial launch and first year of the Clorox School of Finance, the CFO had the idea to earmark time every year (during the slowest time of the year) for intensive training and career development. He asked me to build a plan to engage all 600+ global Finance team members in what he called "Finance Back to School." I designed a 4-week training period when Finance employees across the world could take Clorox School of Finance courses, Finance Systems Training Program modules, and other leadership, management, and soft skills classes. Depending on their location, employees attended training either in person at their local office (in the Western hemisphere) or virtually through WebEx. All courses were offered in either English or Spanish.

Results: The first Back to School program was so successful, the CFO asked me to expand it to 6 weeks and include a leadership speaker series and several different panel discussions on finance, accounting, and career development topics. I also extended the Train-the-Trainer program to leaders in our Europe, MENA, and APAC regional centers, so people in the Eastern hemisphere would have more opportunities to attend classes in person. The overall success of Finance Back to School influenced the Marketing and Sales organizations to develop similar programs for their people.
